Frequently asked questions
How do I get started?
A short guided onboarding sets your goal, targets and preferences, then builds your first meal plan and training programme. You can start logging within a couple of minutes. You can change any of it later in Settings.
Does it have carnivore meal plans?
Yes. Hewett is built carnivore- and low-carb-first. You can generate full carnivore-friendly meal plans with the macros worked out, then log them to your diary in one tap — or adjust them by asking the AI assistant.
Can I get reminders and notifications?
Yes. You can enable reminders to log meals, hit your protein target and stay on top of your programme. Manage them in Settings, and make sure notifications are allowed for Hewett Health in your device settings.
How does the free trial work?
Hewett Health Pro includes a 7-day free trial that unlocks every feature. Cancel any time before it ends in your App Store or Google Play account and you won't be charged. After the trial it's £5.99/month or £49.99/year.
Why isn't the AI food scanner working?
Make sure you've granted camera permission to the app. Go to your device Settings → Hewett Health → Camera and ensure it's enabled. The scanner works best with a clear, well-lit photo.
My meal plan isn't updating when I ask the AI to change it.
Make sure you've first generated a plan with the ⚡ Generate button. Once a plan is active, ask the AI assistant to adjust it and the plan will update automatically above the chat.
How are my calorie targets calculated?
Calorie and macro targets use the Mifflin-St Jeor equation, based on your age, height, weight and activity level — a widely-used, evidence-based method. Always consult a healthcare professional for personalised medical advice.
How do I update my goals or profile?
Go to the Settings tab. You can update your weight, goal, activity level and other details any time, and your calorie and macro targets recalculate automatically.
Is my data stored securely?
Your personal health logs are stored locally on your device — we don't keep them on our servers. We use anonymous product analytics to improve the app. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
How do I reset my data?
Go to Settings → Clear All Data. This permanently clears all locally stored data and returns the app to its initial state. Since data is stored on your device, this is immediate and irreversible.
The app is showing a blank screen on launch.
Close the app fully and reopen it. If it persists, check your internet connection — Hewett Health needs an active connection to load. Still stuck? Email michael-hewett@hotmail.com.
